The authorities are looking for a robbery suspect following an incident in the city's Northeast quadrant. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, on Sunday, just after 8 p.m., a robbery was reported on the 300 block of Morse Street, Northeast; the victim was unharmed, but their possessions were stolen.
Responding to the scene, officers arrived and gathered details from the victim, whose property had been taken before the suspect fled. The victim did not sustain injuries during the event, demonstrating the typical hit-and-run nature of such street crimes. The police are now seeking public assistance in identifying the responsible individual, asking anyone with information to step forward. However, residents are cautioned not to approach the suspect but to contact law enforcement directly.
To incentivize witnesses and people with knowledge of the crime, the MPD has announced a reward of up to $1,000 for information that can lead to an arrest and indictment.
Community members who might have insights on the robbery or can identify the suspect are encouraged to call the police at (202) 727-9099 or to send a text message tipping off the department at their TEXT TIP LINE, 50411.
