Miami residents can expect mostly sunny skies and stable seasonal temperatures as a high-pressure system stays over South Florida. The National Weather Service predicts a 20 percent chance of showers today, with a high of around 85°F. Breezy conditions will continue, with northeast winds at 11 to 17 mph and gusts up to 23 mph. Tonight, the chance of showers drops slightly to 20 percent, under partly cloudy skies and a comfortable low around 75°F.
As reported by NBC Miami, rip current dangers persist along the coast due to these breezy conditions. The remainder of the week sees a continuation of this pattern, with low chances of precipitation and primarily clear skies, under the influence of drying air. While Miami enjoys its typical climate, the rest of the country is experiencing above-normal conditions.
Looking ahead to the weekend, the forecast shows mostly clear skies, minimal rain chances, and a steady flow of eastward winds.
In addition to the local forecast, meteorologists are closely monitoring Tropical Storm Oscar. The storm struggles to maintain its strength, as "there is little thunderstorm activity and the winds are not as strong surrounding the center," according to NBC Miami. It is expected to weaken further due to wind shear and may become a post-tropical system as it moves north and merges with another developing low.
