Miami is starting October with high temperatures of 80s, significantly higher than the typical mid-70s usually seen this time of year. According to the National Weather Service, today's temperatures are slated to hit a sunny high near 90, with heat index values reaching up to 102 degrees. A light southeast wind might offer little respite from the heat.
Tonight’s forecast offers little relief, with mostly clear skies and a low around 77 degrees. Similarly, the southeast wind will slow, providing minimal comfort from the humidity. A separate report by NBC Miami anticipates "feels like" temperatures surging above 100, though not quite reaching levels to warrant a heat advisory.
As the week progresses, chances of showers and thunderstorms increase, particularly after 2 p.m. tomorrow with a rather conservative 20 percent chance. These chances dip slightly tomorrow night with partly cloudy conditions and a low once again hugging the 78-degree mark, as predicted by the National Weather Service.
The forecast for the following days sees a pattern, scattered showers and storms are more likely to emerge. "Mostly sunny and hot" summarizes Thursday, with a 40 percent chance of rain and heats in around the high 80s. Deeper moisture is expected to move into the region, leading to a showers and storms over the weekend, according to NBC Miami, with aiming for highs nearing 90-degree mark.
Moving into the weekend, residents should prepare for an increase in wet weather, with the likelihood of precipitation around 40-50 percent. Highs will remain in the upper 80s, offering only slight relief from the recent heat. It appears that until Monday, the pattern will remain largely unchanged.
