A family tragedy has gripped Middletown after a woman was arrested for the murder of her mother. The Middletown Police Department reports that 44-year-old Mekeshia Lattimore is suspected of stabbing her 72-year-old mother, Minnie Lewis, multiple times yesterday night. According to the Middletown Division of Police, a statement from the police's Facebook page via FOX19, officers responded to a call at a home on 14th Avenue around 11:30 p.m., where they discovered the gravely injured elder.
Lewis was found alive and promptly taken to Atrium Medical Center. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, she was later pronounced dead. The grim announcement of her passing was followed by the news that her daughter, present at the scene, was taken into custody for murder. According to an article by The Enquirer, Lattimore now faces charges in connection with the fatal stabbing.
The incident has left the community seeking answers as the investigation continues. Middletown law enforcement officials have not disclosed a possible motive for the crime.
