Minnetonka's Police Department is opening its doors wider to the community, in a move that seeks to foster a more cohesive bond between law enforcement and the diverse groups they serve. Dubbed the Joint Community Police Partnership Multicultural Advisory Committee (MAC), this newly formed group is actively seeking representatives from the Minnetonka area to bring fresh perspectives to the table, as reported by the City of Minnetonka.
The MAC, which is set to convene monthly, aims to create a space where conversations between the community and police can thrive constructively. As per the City of Minnetonka, residents and individuals who work in Minnetonka can apply, provided they are inclined to engage in these critical dialogues and act as a bridge linking the police department with the populace, especially, with immigrants and communities of color.
Application details are outlined on the city's website, with a cut-off date of December 1. Questions about the initiative can be directed to JCPP Community Liaison Olivia Washington at the number provided on the website, or by email.
