The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the safe location of 17-year-old Carlos Javier Vergara III, who had been missing since yesterday. Vergara, who is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair, was last seen in Helotes wearing a white or gray T-shirt and black jeans.
The search for Vergara intensified after his vehicle, a white Toyota Sequoia, was found locked and empty in a wooded area near State Highway 211, according to KSAT. Witnesses reported seeing him around 6:30 p.m. yesterday walking north in the southbound lanes of Highway 16 toward State Highway 211. Authorities were also informed that he was not wearing a shirt at the time.
The Sheriff’s Office quickly sought public assistance, asking anyone with information about the teenager's whereabouts to come forward. KENS 5 reported that the Bexar County Sheriff's Office appealed to residents for any information that could help locate the teen.
Details about Vergara's disappearance and how he was found are limited, as the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is withholding specific information for privacy and security reasons.
