A Monroe County man has been indicted and arrested on a charge of sexual battery, authorities reported this week. Brian Keith Hodge, 40, is accused of committing the assault at the Monroe County EMA Station in Madisonville, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, as per WVLT.
The indictment came from the Monroe County Grand Jury on Tuesday, as indicated by a WVLT News report. Following the indictment, Hodge was arrested and booked into the Monroe County Jail with a bond set at $10,000. The alleged incident took place on August 24, but details surrounding the charge have not been fully disclosed to the public, the investigation by TBI was initiated last month after the report of the assault.
In a release mentioned by WBIR, the TBI explained that sexual battery in Tennessee is defined as unlawful sexual contact that can involve coercion, force, or cause injury to the victim. Details on the nature of the assault, or the circumstances under which it occurred, however, remain scarce as the agency has not released further specifics on the case.
While Hodge remains in custody, the community awaits the due process to unfold, as relayed by WATE. No additional information has been provided.
