A Montana man with connections to a once-missing Arizona woman has entered a guilty plea on a charge of sexual abuse of children. Edmund Davis, 37, owned up to possessing child sex abuse material on electronic devices discovered during a raid on his apartment in Havre. The illicit content was identified as involving individuals under the age of 13, according to a statement released by the Montana Attorney General's Office, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix.
Authorities initially brought allegations against Davis in October of 2023, when he faced two counts of Sexual Abuse of Children. Despite the possibility of a century-long sentence, the plea agreement paves the way for a Dec. 16 sentencing hearing. "The state will be asking the court to sentence Davis to the Montana State Prison for 100 years, with 50 years suspended and a 25-year parole restriction," the Attorney General's Office stated. This information surfaced after Navarro, who had vanished in 2019, was discovered living at Davis' residence last year, according to FOX 10 Phoenix.
Navarro, diagnosed on the autism spectrum, disappeared just before her 15th birthday in 2019 from her home in Glendale. Her mother found a note shortly thereafter indicating her intent to return. Navarro reappeared over three years later, seeking to shed her status as a missing person upon reaching adulthood, as mentioned by KTAR News. Despite Davis' guilty plea, little is known about Navarro's life during her time away from home, nor the nature of her relationship with Davis. The two were reportedly living together before her voluntary reappearance at a local police department.
