According to the Montgomery County Police Department, at around 7:21 p.m. on that ill-fated evening, police officers from the 3rd District and Fire Rescue teams rushed to the site of misfortune at the junction of E. Franklin Avenue, and Seminole Street. They raced against the clock, only to find Perez in a dire state, after being struck by a silver 2015 Honda CR-V. The driver, whose identity remains undisclosed, stayed at the scene and is said to be cooperating with the subsequent inquiry into the incident.
The victim, Perez, received prompt medical attention but succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a local hospital.
