According to FOX5 Vegas, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported to the scene at North Rancho Drive and Ricky Road around 6:23 p.m. after receiving reports of the crash.
The events unfolded when a 2011 Ford Econoline U-Haul truck, moving north on Rancho Drive, executed a U-turn at Ricky Road and a southbound 2007 Honda CBR 600RR motorcycle collided with the truck's right side, resulting in the motorcyclist's ejection onto the road, the driver of the Ford showed no signs of impairment stayed at the scene to speak with police officers; this marks the 116th traffic-related fatality within the jurisdiction of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for the year 2024, as reported by FOX5 Vegas.
Emergency responders swiftly transported the injured motorcyclist to UMC Trauma, where, despite best efforts from medical personnel, the rider succumbed to injuries and passed away, as reported by News 3 Las Vegas.
