Woodside residents were met with an alarming situation when a registered sex offender was arrested for indecent exposure and making criminal threats. The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office responded to a home on Martin Lane around 8:45 p.m. after receiving distressing calls from locals about a man acting threateningly. This man, identified as 65-year-old Bruce A. McHenry of Mountain View, was taken into custody by deputies who arrived on the scene.
According to officials, McHenry had parked his vehicle outside a resident's home, where he was found completely naked, leading to an encounter with a resident who initially mistook him for a delivery driver. McHenry then allegedly exposed himself and proceeded to yell obscenities, and he later allegedly escalated the situation by threatening another resident with violence, stating he would shoot them.
In the aftermath of the incident, McHenry was booked on suspicion of PC §314(1) for Indecent Exposure and PC §422(A) for Criminal Threat, as noted in the arrest report posted on the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office's Facebook page. An arrest and booking on suspicion of a crime does not indicate a conviction or the formal filing of charges by a prosecutor.
