Yesterday afternoon, a violent incident in Boston's South End led to the arrest of Nathaniel Almeida, 46, of New Bedford, after a victim was reportedly stabbed. The Boston Police Department reported the apprehension of the suspect in connection with the stabbing and subsequent swift medical response for the victim. Boston Police News provided the details of the incident, which occurred around 2:48 PM near 474 Massachusetts Avenue, where officers discovered an adult male with multiple stab wounds who was then immediately tended to as EMS was requested to attend the scene.
The victim, whose name hasn't been disclosed, received urgent medical care before being rushed to a local hospital and, despite the life-threatening nature of his injuries, is expected to survive. The Boston Police described the suspect, later identified as Almeida, and informed officers of his appearance and which way he fled, which led to his subsequent location and arrest in the vicinity of Gage Street and Northampton Street. Upon his discovery, it was noted that Almeida also had a wound, a laceration on his arm, and was needed to be sent to the hospital as well.
After receiving medical attention for his laceration, Almeida was officially charged with multiple offenses, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, simple assault and battery, a threat to commit a crime, and intimidation of a witness. Almeida is awaiting his arraignment at the Boston Municipal Court. Officers did not provide further details on the potential motive or the circumstances leading up to the stabbing.
