
Authorities in New Orleans are currently searching for a suspect connected to an armed robbery and a shooting that occurred early this morning. The New Orleans Police Department is reaching out to the public, seeking any leads that could aid in identifying the individual involved in the violent incident on Banks Street.
The reported armed robbery took place shortly after 7:50 a.m. in the 4400 block of Banks Street. According to the NOPD News release, the suspect approached the victim's car while it was stopped and fired a handgun through the driver's side window during the course of the robbery. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was struck by the gunfire but managed to quickly be transported to the hospital by New Orleans EMS for treatment.
The suspect is reported to be a Black male with a medium build. He was last observed wearing a black hoodie that featured an undetermined white design on the front and light blue basketball-type shorts, as detailed by the news release. In light of the danger posed by the armed suspect, authorities have strongly advised citizens to avoid attempting to engage with the individual if spotted and to instead contact the police immediately.
