A fatal shooting in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood has claimed the life of one man and left another man severely wounded, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reports. The incident transpired around 5:45 p.m. on the 3800 block of Garfield, where officers discovered a 48-year-old man on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds; despite attempts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second victim, aged 52, was found in the roadway with a gunshot wound, quick action was taken to transport him to the hospital where he remains in critical condition; the authorities have not yet identified a suspect or suspects in connection with the shooting. According to the St. Louis Police Department, homicide detectives are actively investigating the circumstances that led up to the violent event.
