
The New Orleans Police Department reported a deadly shooting that unfolded on the afternoon of October 25 in New Orleans' Fifth District. According to the New Orleans Police Department News release, one man was killed and another was wounded in the 2300 block of Louisa Street.
New Orleans Police Department officers arrived at the scene around 2:00 p.m. following a call of a shooting. The victims, two adult males with gunshot wounds, were quickly transported to the hospital by EMS. In hospital, one of victims was declared dead while the other was listed in stable condition. The New Orleans Police Department Homicide detectives have started gathering evidence to identify the perpetrator(s) and establish a motive for the crime.
Investigators shared that prior to the shooting, the two men had driven to the aforementioned location and were confronted by an unknown individual. It is believed an altercation ensued before shots were fired into their vehicle, as per the New Orleans Police Department's preliminary findings.
