
A deadly shooting on Detroit's east side has claimed the life of one individual and left three others wounded, as reported by local media. The incident unfolded yesterday within the residential vicinity of the 6500 block of Haverhill Street, ClickOnDetroit details the timing of the event at approximately 2:40 p.m.
The nature of the altercation that precipitated the gunfire remains under investigation, though early accounts suggest an argument among a group of people erupted into violence; after which a witness recounted hearing what they believed to be around 30 gunshots, this is according to a statement obtained by WXYZ, the local station also reported that nearby Ronald Brown Academy took precautionary measures to ensure students' safety as the incident occurred just as the school day came to a close.
Police have disclosed that among the victims were one woman and three men, while they also confirmed that one male has died as a result of the shooting; as of this reporting, two victims are in critical condition, and one is considered stable, according to CBS News Detroit.
