A fatal vehicular mishap on Highway 30 near Scappoose has claimed the life of one individual and critically injured two others, as reported earlier today. According to KGW, the three-vehicle collision occurred near Slavens Road in the town of Warren and resulted in the closure of eastbound lanes for several hours, these lanes have since been reopened.
The specifics regarding the cause of the accident are still under investigation, yet the aftermath disrupted the morning commute with the eastbound traffic being diverted onto one of the westbound lanes while emergency crews worked the scene this has seen traffic slow in both directions, as noted by KPTV. Additionally, KOIN reports that officials called for caution through the area this morning when the roads were initially shut down at around 8 a.m.
In the wake of the collision, Scappoose Fire Department confirmed the fatality via Facebook at around 5:39 a.m., according to KGW, and noted that responders from the Oregon Department of Transportation, alongside law enforcement, were present at the scene to assist and conduct necessary examinations.
