
The Oxford community is mourning the loss of a local driver following a fatal collision. The incident, which occurred on the evening of Tuesday, involved a side-by-side utility terrain vehicle (UTV) and a 2015 Ram 2500 pickup truck on Highway 7, near the Highway 30 bridge, as confirmed by the Oxford Police Department.
According to reports from Action News 5, the collision happened approximately at 6:09 p.m. in the southbound lane, the impact of which proved fatal for the UTV operator. The police declared the UTV driver dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodger Ram pickup sustained minor injuries and received treatment on the scene.
WREG provided further details, noting that the UTV and the pickup truck collided under circumstances currently under the scrutiny of local law enforcement. At this time, the authorities have not disclosed additional information regarding the cause of the crash or the identities of those involved.
