A fatal incident occurred on Thursday in the Academy neighborhood when a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed, as per an official report from the Accident Reconstruction team. The collision took place on the 5000 block of Delmar at N. Kingshighway. According to preliminary findings, the accident happened at around 7:30 p.m. when a 2004 Pontiac Grand AM, driving westbound on Delmar with the green light, hit a male pedestrian crossing southbound against the signal.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Emergency Medical Services promptly responded to swiftly transport the victim to the hospital. Unfortunately, the pedestrian was pronounced dead after arriving at the medical facility. The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene, cooperating with the authorities. The SLMPD has yet to release the identity of the deceased and is continuing to look thoroughly into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
