Responders found an adult female pedestrian who had sustained severe head and leg injuries after being hit by the vehicle. A bystander stepped in to aid the injured woman before medics arrived quickly. In a determined effort to save the victim, she was then rushed to a local hospital by Pittsburgh EMS, where she remains in critical condition.
