Peoria SUPPORT is reaching out to the local community with its upcoming Homeless Outreach Provider Event (HOPE), set to unfold this Thursday, October 3. Those experiencing homelessness in the Peoria area are invited to come to the Rio Vista Recreation Center, located at 8866 W. Thunderbird Road, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to access a variety of complimentary services. According to a press release by the City of Peoria, the event will provide free resources that include shelter and housing assistance, personal care items such as hygiene kits, options for showers, and haircuts.
In addition to the necessities, the HOPE event will offer much-needed support services aimed at improving the well-being of vulnerable community members. Those attending can find assistance with social security and identification services, veterans resources, and help with enrollment in Arizona's Medicaid program, known as AHCCCS, as per the City of Peoria. The Peoria SUPPORT initiative also extends support to pets, providing care and supplies for those experiencing homelessness with animal companions.
For those seeking more details on the HOPE event, Peoria SUPPORT encourages potential attendees or volunteers to reach out through email at [email protected] or by phone at 623-773-7770.
