A deputy with the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office has been hospitalized following a motorcycle accident while on duty in the Belle Chasse area yesterday, according to reports from local media.
The deputy suffered a serious head injury and currently is being treated at University Medical Center in New Orleans.
