A Plymouth County grand jury has indicted 26-year-old Matthew Paluzzi on a charge of murdering his 73-year-old father, Anthony Paluzzi. On the morning of August 15, Plymouth Police received a distress call from 15 Cedar Road, where they found the elder Paluzzi unresponsive with a severe neck wound. He was covered in blood and pronounced dead at the scene, with a kitchen knife discovered nearby, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Following a bulletin issued by Plymouth Police, a vigilant motorist spotted the suspected vehicle, a 2017 Nissan Murano, and alerted authorities leading to the detainment of Matthew Paluzzi by Hanover Police and Massachusetts State Police, during the stop Paluzzi was found to have blood stains on his clothing and his hands tested positive for blood presence. The District Attorney's Office reported that Paluzzi is currently being held without bail and the date for his arraignment in Superior Court is pending.
Assistant District Attorneys David Cutshall and Arne Hanson will prosecute the case, which was investigated by the Massachusetts State Police and Plymouth Police. Updates will be provided as more details emerge from court proceedings and the work of the prosecutors.
