Gilbert, get ready to satisfy your sweet tooth as Randy’s Donuts, the Los Angeles-based doughnut empire, has officially opened its newest Arizona location. This marks the third store in the state, and it began welcoming customers today at 4935. S. Val Vista Dr., featuring a convenient drive-thru for on-the-go indulgence. Eager doughnut enthusiasts can expect doors to open daily at 6 a.m., catering to those early morning cravings.
Today, during the grand opening, the first hundred people wrapping around the block were treated to a complimentary glazed donut. Further sweetening the deal, all who visited that day had the opportunity to enter a contest – promising doughnuts for a year to the lucky winner set to be announced on Monday, October 14. According to Pulling Corks and Forks, this gesture is part of Randy's commitment to becoming a beloved brand in the Arizona market.
"It’s been very exciting to come into the Arizona market," Brian Padilla, local managing partner, told Pulling Corks and Forks. "People know Randy’s Donuts from our appearances in movies and television shows and many Arizonans are familiar with the brand from their travels to Southern California. We’re honored to be a part of the company’s 70+ year legacy." Padilla, alongside partners Richard Suzuki and Carlos Munoz, has ambitious plans for further expansion into Arizona, New Mexico, and El Paso, Texas.
Well-known for its iconic 32-foot donut sign towering over its original Inglewood shop since 1962, Randy's Donuts boasts a variety of over 60 types of handcrafted donuts. Adding to the doughy delights, customers can wash down their treats with Randy’s own coffee blend, Randy’s Roast, or choose from boba drinks, breakfast sandwiches, frappes, and real ice cream milkshakes. As per the brand's tradition, making the donuts fluffier with proprietary ingredients are used across all their locations, as reported by ABC15.
Increasing its foothold in Arizona, Randy's Donuts has established stores in Phoenix and Chandler prior to this new Gilbert location. Plans for a Scottsdale outlet have also been teased, hinting at the not-so-distant future of another addition.
