Rehrig Pacific, a company known for its sustainable solutions in waste management and the supply chain, has opened a new manufacturing facility in Buckeye, Arizona. Celebrating its launch on Saturday, this 264,000-square-foot plant marks a decisive step forward in the company's expansion and its commitment to innovation and eco-friendly practices. The company, which has a deep footprint in the supply chain and recycling industries, views the state-of-the-art facility as a testament to its values and a boost to Buckeye's local economy. The development of this facility, which commenced construction in May 2023, underscores Rehrig Pacific's emergence as a significant player in this space, according to the City of Buckeye.
Among those involved, Arizona's economic developers, local officials, and the Rehrig Pacific team have been pivotal in bringing the project to fruition, as noted in a statement obtained by the City of Buckeye. These partners were instrumental in the facility's quick construction, completed believed to be in record time. It is designed with growth in mind, located on a 35-acre site allowing for potential expansion up to 500,000 square feet.
According to the City of Buckeye press release, Will Rehrig, CEO of Rehrig Pacific, expressed gratitude towards the collaborative effort that made the Buckeye facility a reality. "Choosing Buckeye to build our plant was a great decision, allowing us to become part of a special community and build a lasting partnership with the city," Rehrig said. He also emphasized that the plant is more than just a manufacturing space; it's an "innovative space for our people to grow and excel." This sentiment aligns with the company's forecast of creating about 115 full-time jobs at the site.
The facility boasts of multiple green initiatives such as 380 KW solar panels, water reclamation systems, and electric vehicle charging stations, reflecting Rehrig Pacific's commitment to sustainability. It represents a leap forward for Arizona, as mentioned by Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, who views Rehrig's operation as a reflection of the state's leading role in sustainability. In a statement shared by the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, President and CEO Chris Camacho pointed out the region's focus on the circular economy, noting that Rehrig Pacific will drive these fundamentals for a modern supply chain, as per the City of Buckeye.
Buckeye Mayor Eric Orsborn highlighted the partnership with Rehrig Pacific, calling the company an "incredible business and community partner," as mentioned by the City of Buckeye. The facility, equipped with advanced technology and designed for employee comfort, aligns with the city's developmental goals and provides an excellent work environment for residents.
