The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) alongside Habersham County Sheriff's Office officials, have reportedly located human remains believed to be those of Minelys Zoe Rodriguez-Ramirez, who has been missing since last Tuesday.

Angel DeJesus Rivera-Sanches, 24, is set to be charged with the murder of the 25-year-old woman from Cornelia. Sightings of Rodriguez-Ramirez ceased prior to her family reporting her disappearance last Wednesday. GBI took Rivera-Sanches into custody in Atlanta on Monday, with the initial charge of kidnapping. He is currently held at the Habersham County Detention Center.

The recovery efforts were supported by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, as stated in a GBI press release, which also noted that the remains have been sent to the GBI Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy. An official identification and cause of death determination is pending the completion of the autopsy.

As the investigation continues, the GBI encourages anyone with information to come forward through the See Something, Send Something mobile app or by submitting tips online. These efforts aim to clarify the events surrounding Rodriguez-Ramirez's disappearance.

Once investigators close the case, it will be forwarded to the Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office to initiate prosecution.
