San Francisco police have made two arrests in connection to a major drug trafficking operation in the city's Tenderloin district. The suspects, identified as German Alfred Colindres Estrada, 24, of Oakland, and Jose Colindres Erazo, 22, were taken into custody. A detailed investigation lasting four months led the SFPD Narcotics Unit, alongside the Tenderloin Plainclothes Unit, the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration, to the suspects.
On Tuesday, just before midnight, law enforcement observed the suspects parking their vehicle near 11th and Howard Streets, as outlined in a San Francisco Police Department press release. They were detained on foot at 11th and Mission Streets without incident. Cooper, a K-9 unit of the SFPD, indicated that Estrada's backpack contained illegal narcotics. Additionally, a hidden, loaded, semi-automatic pistol was located in Estrada's vehicle.
The subsequent search at Estrada's Oakland residence uncovered a large hydraulic press, press plates, and cutting agents believed to be for expanding the volume of narcotics produced. Officers seized around $45,000, numerous disassembled firearms and ammunition, and over 1,330 grams of various drugs, including fentanyl, methamphetamine, prescription pills, and cocaine.
The arrestees face multiple felony charges, with Estrada being booked on counts including firearm possession and several drug-related offenses. Erazo faces similar charges concerning firearms and controlled substances.
