Early yesterday morning, a 57-year-old San Jose man was apprehended by Tiburon Police for driving under the influence and possession of drugs. The incident, documented on the official Tiburon Police Department Instagram account, occurred at 3:05 am when the man was spotted on Mar East Street driving in the wrong direction on a one-way street.

The man exhibited clear signs that he was under the influence and, upon confrontation, admitted outright to using methamphetamine. Test results further confirmed that the individual could not safely operate a vehicle. Ultimately, he was taken into custody, and a subsequent search of his vehicle unearthed suspected methamphetamine alongside associated drug paraphernalia.

Following his poor performance during field sobriety tests, the suspect was booked into Marin County Jail. He's facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of narcotics, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The Tiburon Police Department's Instagram post stated, "Officers searched his vehicle and found drugs (suspected methamphetmine) and drug paraphernalia (pipes and foil)."

These findings resulted in his vehicle being towed. The man's identity has yet to be released, and further investigation is pending.
