San José Police Department (SJPD) officers responded to a call around 2:38 AM in the 100 block of South 2nd Street, where they discovered an adult male victim with at least one gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical assistance from officers and subsequent care from arriving medical personnel, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the shooting has been taken up by the SJPD Homicide Unit, as announced in a release from the San José Police Department. According to the official statement from the police, the motive and circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation. The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office will disclose the identity of the victim after confirmation and after notifying the family.
