Today, the District Attorney's office announced through social media that Julio Villalobos, aged 19, pleaded no contest to felony robbery coupled with serious violent felony allegations. The sentencing has been set for November 20, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney's post. Villalobos and another suspect were involved in a high-stakes crime last year, which included carjacking a truck at gunpoint and engaging the police in a high-speed chase.

The incident, dating back to September 15, 2023, unfolded when a work van was forcibly taken near 42nd Avenue and Edison Street. Two armed assailants commandeered the vehicle from the victim, with Villalobos subsequently fleeing the scene in the stolen van. A white Infinity, believed to be operated by the second suspect, Jose Ramirez Marquez, was also part of the heist. The Brisbane Police Department stumbled upon the stolen van, which instigated a chase that ended in a collision in San Francisco, reports Hoodline.
Ramirez Marquez tried to eschew capture by foot but was quickly detained by Brisbane officers, a loaded, unregistered pistol in his possession, marking additional criminal charges. Villalobos's successful apprehension resulted from diligent investigative work by the San Mateo Police Department, which included surveillance footage, witness interviews, and searches that yielded critical evidence.
Ramirez Marquez is facing multiple charges, including carjacking, second-degree robbery, felony criminal threats, and gun offenses. At the same time, Villalobos awaits his sentence for his part in the criminal act, both having been taken into custody, echoes Hoodline's report.
