The incident in question unfolded on July 24, when officers were summoned to the 1800 block of Marion Barry Avenue over a traffic accident, only to find it entwined with a more severe crime scene, an adult male shooting victim was found inside a crashed vehicle, bullets having dictated the trajectory of both flesh and metal with alarming finality.
According to official MPD reports, the latest arrest came yesterday, October 17, when 21-year-old Donte Bennett from Suitland, Maryland, found his freedom curtailed by the cold hand of the law, courtesy of a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, he now faces charges of Assault with Intent to Kill While Armed, this development trails the previous August apprehension of another 21-year-old from Southeast D.C., whom detectives connected to the same violent tapestry, charging him similarly with Assault with Intent to Kill while Armed.
