
Tragedy struck in southeast Shelby County as a homeowner was killed after confronting suspected car burglars outside his residence. The Shelby County Sheriff's Office responded to a call reporting a shooting before 3 a.m. at the 7000 block of Cutter Mill Road, as reported by Action News 5.
The victim was quickly taken to St. Francis Hospital in a critical state but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The unfortunate incident occurred when the man noticed individuals seemingly attempting to forcibly enter a vehicle parked in his driveway. According to FOX13 Memphis, upon opening his front door and yelling at the suspects, the homeowner was shot multiple times. The suspects responsible for the shooting have yet to be identified by the authorities, and the homicide investigation remains ongoing.
As the community reels from such a violent episode, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office continues to piece together the circumstances of the fatal encounter.
