St. Charles Parish veterans and their spouses have a special event to mark on their calendars for the start of November. St. Charles Parish president, Matthew Jewell, and Sheriff Greg Champagne are setting the stage for the annual Veterans Day Luncheon, set to take place on November 7.
The gathering is slated for the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center in Luling, at 274 Judge Edward Dufresne Parkway. Attendees can expect to partake in a brief program which will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the gymnasium, followed by lunch, according to an announcement from the St. Charles Parish's official website.
A highlight of the luncheon is the guest speaker, Dr. Ken Oertling, a U.S. Navy veteran and Superintendent of the St. Charles Parish Public School System. The event will also feature a video display of photos showcasing local veterans.
