Heads up, St. Louis residents: your roll cart trash collection schedule will see some changes to honor our nation's veterans. The City of St. Louis Refuse Division announced adjustments for the upcoming Veterans Day holiday, so plan accordingly for your solid waste and recycling pickup days.
Typically, if your trash is collected on Mondays and your recyclables on Thursdays, you'll want to roll your carts out on Tuesday, November 12, instead, for solid waste and keep to your regular schedule for recyclables on Thursday, November 14. Those on the Tuesday solid waste and Friday recycling schedule will need to wait an extra day for pickup on Wednesday, November 13, and Friday, November 15, respectively, according to the City of St. Louis announcement.
Don't forget that the yard waste collection will not take a break but instead resumes on Wednesday, November 20, after the Veterans Day alterations.
St. Louis is also providing information on how to dispose of "B.O.A.T. Items" like Batteries, Oil, Appliances, Tires, and other bulky materials. For yard waste, Christmas trees, and especially hazardous materials, make sure to consult their specific programs, as mentioned on the City of St. Louis website.
