A deadly altercation in the 4100 block of Peck Street claimed the life of a St. Louis man and left two others injured. The incident, which took place on Tuesday, has sparked a homicide investigation, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reported. The shooting that unfolded around noon led to the untimely death of 25-year-old Taaj Bell and wounded a couple more in what is suspected to be a domestic-related clash.
Authorities arrived at the scene to find Bell with gunshot wounds on the sidewalk. Despite the rapid response from emergency medical services, he was pronounced dead at the scene. A 23-year-old woman, who is identified as Bell's girlfriend, suffered a gunshot wound to her leg and a 24-year-old man sustained a shoulder injury; he was treated and since has been released from the hospital. The woman's condition is currently stable, as per the latest updates.
According to SLMPD's preliminary investigation, the gunfire exchange involved Bell and the 24-year-old man, who has been identified as the brother of Bell's girlfriend.
