
A teenage dispute turned deadly last year in the Kingsway West neighborhood has now concluded in a prison sentence: Robert Walker Jr., 17, will spend the next two decades behind bars. In accordance with a report released by the Circuit Attorney's Office, Walker pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and armed criminal action for the killing of 23-year-old Robert Green on August 26, 2023. The sentencing, handed down this week, includes 19 years for the murder and an additional three years for armed criminal action.
Walker, who was only 16 at the time of the violent confrontation over firearm sales, engaged in what escalated rapidly from a dispute to a deadly chase that wound down the 5100 block of Greer Avenue; Walker pursued Green out of a gangway and fired multiple shots and after Green fell, Walker shot him twice in the head before taking Green's gun, the chilling episode captured in entirety on video. Details about the confrontation and the video evidence came to light during the trial proceedings.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant Circuit Attorney Grant Simon whose team saw to the conclusion of Walker's sentencing in line with the severity of the crime, as documented in the defendant's case number 2422-CR01635-01.
