A man on the run from Denver authorities was apprehended by Seattle police after causing trouble in a Capitol Hill LGBTQ nightclub. The incident occurred the previous night when the suspect, aged 58, reportedly became agitated over the club's cover fee, leading to threats and an assault.
The scene unfolded when the fugitive inquired about the entry cost at the venue located on the 1500 block of Broadway. According to statements to the Seattle Police Blotter, his temper flared and he threw objects at an employee, allegedly making statements about "shooting up the club." Witnesses described how the man punched the employee before storming off.
Seattle officers who were part of the nightlife patrol detail quickly responded to the call. Following a short pursuit, they caught the individual at the intersection of Broadway East and East John Street. The SPD Blotter also notes that the man continued to be contentious during transport to the King County Jail, directing threats towards the officers.
Now in custody, the suspect faces multiple charges including fourth-degree assault and three counts of felony harassment, along with being wanted on a fugitive warrant for DUI from Denver, CO. His aggressive incident at the Capitol Hill establishment underscores ongoing concerns about the safety of LGBTQ spaces and the people within them.
