In a recent update provided by the Stockton Police Department via its official social media channels, authorities have made a significant breakthrough in a homicide case dating back to September. An arrest has been made in connection with the shooting of a teenage boy that occurred on September 21.
The investigation was launched following the admission of the critically injured teen to San Joaquin County Hospital in the early hours of that September morning. According to the Facebook post from the Stockton Police Department, it was determined that the shooting took place near Carolyn Weston Bl & Manthey Rd. Despite initial treatments, the juvenile victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The breakthrough came on October 16, almost a month after the fatal shooting, officers from the Stockton Police Department in partnership with the U.S. Marshals Task Force located and arrested 50-year-old suspect Anthony Young in Manteca. Young was apprehended "without incident," and has since been charged with homicide, as per the details shared in the Stockton Police Department Facebook post.
Young, who now faces serious charges, was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail. While the arrest marks a critical development in this ongoing case, the Stockton Police Department has indicated that their investigation remains active.
