A fatal shooting in downtown Salt Lake City has led to an ongoing investigation by the Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD), as confirmed in a recent report. The incident, which claimed the life of one individual, occurred on 200 South State Street, near the Maverik at 185 South State Street.
According to SLCPD, the emergency call was received at 12:18 p.m. on Saturday, and officers were promptly dispatched to the scene. On their arrival, they discovered a man with a gunshot wound on the ground. Despite the best efforts of officers and the Salt Lake City Fire Department, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The SLCPD has taken a suspect into custody in connection with the shooting.
