Trump Tower Chicago suffered damage to its façade Wednesday evening when an individual hurled rocks at the building, breaking six windows, according to reports by Chicago police. The incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. at the high-rise in the 400 block of North Wabash Avenue, where a witness observed a male suspect committing the act of vandalism before swiftly leaving the scene, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
Despite the property damage to the riverfront skyscraper, authorities had not apprehended anyone as of the last update. "No one is in custody in connection to the incident and the vandalism is under investigation by Area Three detectives," NBC Chicago stated. The assailant was last seen fleeing north on Rush Street, leaving behind a series of broken windows that mar the exterior of the downtown landmark.
The Chicago Police Department is currently examining evidence and seeking further information to capture the perpetrator behind the damage to the Trump International Hotel & Tower. Both law enforcement and hotel representatives have refrained from commenting on potential motives or the cost of the damages incurred by this brazen act of destruction.
As the investigation unfolds, updates are expected to be provided on the pursuit of the individual responsible for Wednesday's vandalism.
