Two individuals are now in the hands of law enforcement after what unfolded as a dramatic high-speed chase on the Dan Ryan Expressway, leading up to their arrest on Friday afternoon. As reported by the Chicago Sun-Times, the suspects were allegedly involved in a recent residential burglary in Downers Grove and were subsequently linked to additional break-ins both in unincorporated Kane County and Naperville.

The pursuit commenced when Downers Grove Police identified the suspects inside a Nissan Rogue at a White Castle parking lot on West Addison Street. While attempting to detain the suspects, the individuals took off, striking an officer who sustained minor injuries. According to Downers Grove Police Chief Mike DeVries, in a statement echoed by the Chicago Sun-Times, "They were also connected to separate residential burglaries in unincorporated Kane County and Naperville earlier Friday."

The chase continued onto I-90 with Chicago police in pursuit. The suspects eventually transitioned from their initial vehicle into a Dodge minivan on the expressway, only to later be apprehended on the 7100 block of South Lafayette Avenue, in Grand Crossing, as per information from ABC7 Chicago. The Nissan Rogue was discovered and recovered by the Chicago police.

Rescue personnel transported one person involved in the initial crash to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, however, their condition has yet to be disclosed to the public. While the Downers Grove Police Department continues to investigate the incident, there has been no immediate update on the charges the suspects might face. "The Downers Grove Police Department continue to investigate the incident,"  CPD officials stated.
