A church in North Las Vegas has caught the attention of local authorities after a fire broke out on Thursday afternoon. According to 8 News Now, the North Las Vegas Fire Department is treating the blaze at the building on Yale Street near Lake Mead Boulevard as suspicious.
Responders arrived around 2:30 PM to find light smoke coming from the church's gable vents. Inside, fire crews discovered a fire in an exterior wall. The fire did not spread to the building's interior or attic, according to News 3 LV.
Fires of this nature, particularly when they strike a church, summon a specific response – the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) stepping in to aid the investigation, confirming the practice followed in this case. No injuries have been reported among those who were inside the building at the time or the firefighters who responded to the emergency call.
