A 14-year-old girl is grappling with severe injuries following a traffic accident in Winton Hills, a neighborhood of Cincinnati, as local police sources and area news outlets reported. The incident unfolded on the 5700 block of Winton Road just before 4 p.m. yesterday, triggering a prompt response from the Cincinnati police.
According to the preliminary investigation details released by the Cincinnati Police Department and reported by WCPO, the teenage girl attempted to traverse Winton Road outside a marked crosswalk. In this attempt, a 36-year-old woman piloting a 2022 Honda Accord southbound struck her.
The driver of the vehicle, who was not harnessing the protection of a seatbelt at the time of the collision, escaped the incident unscathed, as FOX19 noted. On the other hand, the young pedestrian was swiftly conveyed to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center to receive immediate care for the injuries sustained.
Officials have made it clear that neither excessive speed nor impairment is under scrutiny as potential contributors to the unfortunate occurrence. This detail surfaced in statements obtained by both WCPO and sources like The Enquirer. Authorities are calling upon any witnesses to step forth and urging them to contact the Cincinnati Police Department’s Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514 with any pertinent information they might hold.
