A teenage boy was shot in Southwest Atlanta and sought help at a local fire station, according to the Atlanta Police Department. The incident occurred on the evening of October 10, when officers were called to the scene at 1203 Lee Street SW, which is the address of AFRD Fire Station 14, according to the Atlanta Police Department. On arrival, they found the 17-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to his left arm.
The youth was conscious and breathing when the police arrived and was promptly taken to receive medical treatment. Investigations currently suggest that the shooting may have initially taken place at a different location, 1183 Oakland Lane SW, and that the injured party fled to the fire station immediately after to quickly seek aid. The Aggravated Assault Unit is following up to thoroughly determine what led up to the shooting, with the case remaining active and details forthcoming.
While the identity of the teenager has not been released, the nature of his injuries suggests a violent altercation. The current investigation aims to piece together the events that resulted in this latest instance that has left a young man wounded and a community seeking answers.
