A 21-year-old Tewksbury man, Trevor Bady, has been indicted in connection with the fatal shooting of 15-year-old Ahliana Dickey inside her Lowell apartment. According to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office, Bady is facing charges of first-degree murder and related firearm offenses.

The tragic incident occurred in June, just before the young victim was set to celebrate her eighth-grade graduation. Her absence alarmed family members, leading to the discovery of her body on June 14 inside her Lawrence Street home, with apparent gunshot wounds.

Investigators uncovered a troubling backstory involving an intimate relationship between Dickey and Bady, marked by past allegations of violence and threats. On the same day, a witness called Lowell Police to report a dispute, mentioning a woman’s desperate pleas to be left alone. Gunshots were heard shortly after, according to police statements.

Video surveillance captured Ahliana yelling for help shortly before midnight, with a male, believed to be the defendant, leaving her residence just after the gunshots. As the investigation continued, an Uber driver reported that his passenger, identified as Bady, acted suspiciously around the time of the murder. This information helped police piece together the timeline of the crime.

Bady was arrested on June 17 at a Peabody residence after a multi-agency effort involving the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office Warrant Apprehension Unit, Tewksbury Police, and Nashua Police. Prosecutors Christopher Tarrant and Bayley Weese, along with victim witness advocate Renee Leone, will handle the case as it moves through the judicial system.
