The City of Tolleson is hosting a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Event on Thursday, October 10. This event allows residents within the city limits to safely dispose of harmful household waste, according to a release on the Tolleson City official website.
If you want to participate, make sure to register by 3:00 p.m. on October 4 by calling 623-936-7141 and selecting the Bulk Trash Pickup option. This event is a great way to safely dispose of items with hazardous chemicals, such as antifreeze, old paint, and gasoline.
Make sure to follow the rules for this event. You must schedule an appointment to have your items picked up. Everything needs to be boxed and placed at the top of your driveway by 7:00 a.m. on collection day. The collection crew won’t take car batteries, gas cylinders, or similar items. They will accept things like antifreeze, motor oil, and one refrigerator or freezer per household. You can also dispose of up to four tires (without rims) per home.
To confirm your eligibility for the event, check your water bill or the Tolleson City Boundary Map, as sharing isn’t allowed when it comes to zip codes and HHW events.
