
A recent collision in St. Louis has taken the life of a woman identified as Tunisha Chestnutt from Dellwood. The incident, which occurred on October 13 shortly after 1:00 a.m., involved two vehicles, a 2023 Dodge Durango and a 2002 Dodge Caravan, at the intersection of Market at 14th, according to a statement released by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
The preliminary examination by authorities suggests, that the Durango was westbound on Market and failed to stop at a red light, leading to the crash with the Caravan, which had been heading southbound on 14th with a green light. The impact caused the Durango to flip onto its side, requiring emergency services to transport multiple individuals to the hospital. The driver of the Caravan and her 32-year-old female passenger, were also taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Tunisha Chestnutt, the passenger seated at the rear of the Durango, was tragically pronounced dead at the hospital. She was 32 years old and resided on the 1500 block of St. Ives Dr. in Dellwood, MO. The other individuals involved in the crash received medical attention; however, their conditions have not been disclosed.
Accident Reconstruction is now handling the ongoing investigation to determine the chain of events leading up to the fatal collision. There is no word yet on any charges the 35-year-old woman driver of the Durango may face, as the investigation continues.
