
Two individuals have perished following a collision on Highway 25 near Bolsa Road in the unincorporated Gilroy area of Santa Clara County. One of the deceased was later identified to be Santa Clara County 911 Communications Dispatcher Priscilla Jones, which was confirmed by the county’s Medical Examiner's Office, as reported by KTVU.
The violent head-on crash involved a 24-year-old man driving a 2018 Nissan Sentra and Jones, 35, who was in a 2012 Dodge Charger. The incident unfolded early yesterday around 12:30 a.m. along Highway 25 near Bloomfield Avenue, as the California Highway Patrol detailed. The Nissan crossed the double yellow lines for unclear reasons and collided head-on with the Dodge Charger, as per NBC Bay Area.
Upon arrival, fire crews immediately found two vehicles with significant damage and one individual, namely Jones, dead inside her vehicle. The second casualty, the driver of the Nissan, sustained injuries initially but was later pronounced dead at the scene, according to KTVU.
According to NBC Bay Area, the county Office of Communications and Public Affairs expressed their grief, "We’re saddened by the loss of one of our valued staff members and our thoughts go out to her friends and family."
