Two individuals died in a shooting at a residential home in the Prescott area, according to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office. Officials, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix, stated that the incident occurred in Wildwood Estates during the early morning hours yesterday.
Investigators say the deceased husband may have shot his estranged wife as she tried to leave their home. A nearby YCSO reserve deputy responded and discharged his weapon. The details leading up to the deputy's intervention are still being examined, and it is unclear how many shots were fired during the incident, as mentioned by 12 News.
Both the man and woman were pronounced deceased at the scene, and their identities are withheld until the notification of next of kin, as stated by authorities. The Sheriff’s Office has requested assistance from the Department of Public Safety to lead the investigation.
