The Union City Police Department recently reported the arrests of two men believed to be linked to a spate of burglaries targeting local businesses. The men, identified as Erick Stabile, 44, of Fremont, and Edward Casey, 45, of San Jose, are accused of forcibly entering establishments and making off with cash tills. Their illicit spree included a cleaner broken into in August and a restaurant hit in September, as reported by the Union City Police Department.
Detailed investigative work by the department's Special Services Detectives led to the identification of the suspects. To solve the case effectively, detectives relied on various techniques and resources, including FLOCK license plate readers, analysis of cell phone records, physical surveillance, and video footage review. The break in the case came when searches executed in San Jose turned up evidence to link the men to the crimes conclusively.
Adopting a collaborative approach, the Union City Police Department shared its findings with nearby law enforcement agencies. They urge anyone with more information about burglaries or other dubious activities to contact them. Detective Ordaz can be reached at 510-675-5263.
